When you are persuaded to believe certain things about a person, your behavior towards them may change, and not necessarily for the better. Admittedly, we have all been guilty of judging someone based solely on what we have heard about them.
This is the issue that an experiment by Canon Australia’s THE LAB tries to tackle: six different photographers were asked to capture the same man, but each was told a different story. For example, whether the man was a millionaire, or ex-convict, or former alcoholic, varied among the tasked photographers.
Here’s the twist of the experiment: none of stories were true, but the way in which each photographer chose to represent their subject is very revealing.
