Kodinhi: The Indian Village that has Over 200 Sets of Twins

Jordi Pizarro  is a Spanish photographer who isn’t suffering from double vision. In his series Good Things Come Together, he focuses on the fascinating tale of the so-called “Twin City” in the region of Kerala, India.

Pizarro traveled to Kodinhi, the real name of “Twin City”, to photograph the twin citizens, young and old. Kodinhi has the highest twin birth rate globally and has mystified both doctors and scientists. There are nearly 2000 residents of Kodinhi and over 200 sets of twins, with nearly 15 pairs born yearly.

There’s a yearly ceremony at the local Christian church, where twins congregate to celebrate their double identity at the feet of St. Gervasis and St. Prothasis, saints whom are twins. Their surroundings are full of life and greenery, almost to say that life is bursting at every corner in their village.
