Ralph Graef is a German photographer and cell biologist. Fascinated by landscapes and architecture, Ralph stimulates the imagination of spectators by photographing abandoned places.
His bathroom images are taken from his “Vacancy” series. He makes us discover the melancholic and sometimes disturbing beauty of these places which remind him of his childhood and which always seem usable.
Captured in hospitals, barracks and manor houses, these bathrooms with sometimes fading, sometimes vivid colors see their graphic strength sublimated by the well-thought composition of the photographer.
Ralph works in digital or medium format, capturing all the details of those cinematic aesthetics that can remind Gregory Crewdson’s photos.
