Montreal-based photographer Conor Nickerson didn’t intend to make a project that would eventually go viral internationally.
“While looking through some old family photos, I wondered what it would it look like if tried to photoshop myself today into them,” Nickerson wrote on his original facebook post featuring the project. However, the photographer’s sense of humor, self-reflection, and mad photoshop skills propelled “Childhood” into a viral sensation, which has now been shared on sites such as Reddit and BoredPanda and received hundreds of thousands of views.
With the project, Nickerson photoshops his adult self into childhood photographs, matching the lighting and shadows, as well as dressing in late nineties-era clothing, in order to blend the images seamlessly. The result is a testament to Nickerson’s own skill as a photographer and editor, as well as his ability to evoke nostalgia.
